From the architectural drawings we realised that this was going to be a complicated projects in terms of design, production and installation.
After working with the same architects and builders at 321 Kent St refurbishment the team was in place and the process began.
3 layers of 6mm MDF board were clued to a radius template giving a very solid 18mm thick curved MDF substrate.
1.0mm brass was then fabricated & curved at our factory to the MDF panels
The brass was then chemically aged to a very dark patina before being glued to the MDF panels.
The structure was provided by other subcontract carpenters for us to assemble our split batten systems & panels.
Fine degrees of tolerance meant that every shadow line has to be even & panel colour also had to be a close match to the next.
The lift door resesses were also renovated with ARC providing a 45mm brass clad frame to the doors with linished stainless steel infil panels.
Shop drawings were provided & we worked with the architect over several months to finalize the design
